A breathing timer you can follow without reading

Breathe in as the circle grows, hold while it stays still, and breathe out as it shrinks. A calm voice or soft tones guide you, so you can close your eyes.

Choose Box breathing to focus, 4-7-8 to wind down for sleep, or Calm to relax, and how many minutes to breathe.

Set your own counts for each part, or save a session as a video to follow anywhere.

Questions

What is box breathing?

Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4 and hold for 4, then repeat. The even rhythm helps you settle and focus.

What is 4-7-8 breathing?

Breathe in for 4, hold for 7, then breathe out slowly for 8. The long breath out helps many people relax before sleep.

Can the voice say Inhale and Exhale instead?

Yes. With the Calm voice sound, choose Inhale under Sound. You can also pick from several women's and men's voices.

Is breathing practice safe for everyone?

For most people, gentle breathing is safe. If you feel dizzy or short of breath, stop and breathe normally. If you have a heart or lung condition, or are pregnant, ask your doctor first.

Can I turn this timer into a video?

Yes. Choose Save as video under the clock and you get an MP4 with the same look and the same sounds, ready for YouTube, a live stream, a class screen or your phone. It's made in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and videos can be up to 3 hours long. Videos carry a small timermaker.com mark in the corner.

Can I use my own photo or video as the background?

Yes. Choose Background on the clock, then pick or drop a photo or video. Your file stays in your browser and is never uploaded. Darken background keeps the numbers easy to read.

Can I add my own music?

Yes. Under Sound, choose Add music and pick a music file. Add a few songs and they play in order, on a loop, for the whole timer, and get quieter while a sound or voice plays. Your music stays in your browser and goes into videos you save, but not into shared links.

How do I share a timer?

Choose Share under the clock to get a link. Anyone who opens it gets the same timer and can start it or change it for themselves. Your own photos, videos and music aren't included in shared links.
